EBook Distributors

How distribution works
Is there no Author Freely?

Important: The sale of your book in bookstores and associated stores is subject to meeting the technical requirements demanded by each partner. Some bookstores or stores require the work to have an ISBN, others that the ebook be in epub format. All books distributed by third parties may have up to 20% of their content open for user preview.

1.

Did you publish your book in the Club?

If you authorize it, it will be distributed in bookstores and markets worldwide within 30 days.

2.

Changes after publication

You can continue to change aspects of your book at any time. However, these changes will take up to 30 days to reflect in distribution channels.

3.

Purchased Books

Books purchased by consumers in audio, subscription, or loan formats will remain with them according to the rules established between associated stores and end customers.

4.

Copyright

If your book (print or ebook) is purchased on the Club's site where you published it, you will receive exactly what you established in copyright during the publishing process.

5.

20% of the Price

If your book (print or ebook) is purchased in any bookstore, marketplace, or international Club de Autores sites, you will receive 20% of the price as copyright.

6.

50% of the Value

If the commercialization of your work is done in Club-associated stores that operate on the subscription or loan model, you will receive 50% of the total value transferred by them to Club de Autores. This value will be calculated based on the percentage read (for ebooks) or listened to (for audiobooks) of your work in relation to all works consumed by store subscribers each month.

7.

Adjusted Prices

The price of your book will always be the same per country regardless of the sales channel. In the case of sales in other countries, however, prices will be automatically adjusted according to local production costs. Of course: you will still receive 20% of the copyright in all international sales.

8.

90 days

All sales made through associated channels will be reported in the author's report on the Club's site within 90 days from the sale date at the associate.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does international delivery work?
Club de Autores has bases in Brazil and Europe, with printing agreements in these two places. Books purchased in Brazil are printed and delivered by Brazilian printers; books purchased in any European Union member country will be printed and delivered by European printers. Books purchased in other countries worldwide are exported from points that offer the best logistical advantages.
How do I receive payments for sales in other countries?
The same way you receive payments for sales in your country. All your royalties will be visible in your statement, converted to your original currency, and deposited into the account you provided, following the rules accepted during your registration. These rules can be viewed in detail here.
Does international distribution include printed books, ebooks, and audiobooks?
Yes. Both printed books, which constitute the majority of book sales worldwide, as well as ebooks and, in the future, audiobooks, are distributed internationally.
Do I need to do anything for my book to be distributed?
Throughout the publishing process, you have the option to distribute or not distribute your book. If you choose to distribute, you don't need to do anything else: within 30 days, your book will be available in all associated stores worldwide. If you choose not to distribute, your book will be for sale only on Club de Autores platforms.
Can I change the distribution status of my book?
Yes, whenever you want. Simply access your book in "Your Account" > "Your Publications" > "Published Books" and look for the desired option in the actions area.
Will the price of my book be the same in all countries?
No. As production costs vary in each country, the Club's system recalculates the value taking into account graphic inputs (for printed books), the average book price, and currency differences. But don't worry: in places where the Club has its own structure (such as Brazil and the European Union), your book will always be sold within local average prices.
Do my royalties vary according to the sales channel?
Yes. There are 3 ways to calculate your royalties:
a) For sales made directly on the Club de Autores site in the country where you published, you will receive exactly what you established at the time of publication.
b) For sales in any bookstore, marketplace, or international Club de Autores sites, you will receive 20% of the final book sale price.
c) For sales on subscription platforms, loans, or digital libraries (applicable only to ebooks or audiobooks), you will receive 50% of the net value transferred by each channel to Club de Autores.
All these rules can be viewed in detail in the author's contract, accepted at the time of your registration, and which you can access here.
What is the advantage of international distribution?
Basically: audience. There are millions of readers in your language scattered around the planet, and international distribution allows you to make your book accessible to everyone, expanding your audience and, consequently, your earnings.
